Building Our Future Together.

JAPAN

Inspired by the UN's rights-based approach to disability, Yuriko worked on 'WheeLog' a user-generated accessibility map application helping wheelchair users move around Tokyo and the region.
"Thanks to this app, wheelchair users like me can share experiences to help others go around the city more smoothly. The UN helps address our rights as human rights, beyond welfare." - Yuriko, app developer, Japan

INDONESIA

"Before, I was selling simple snacks on the beach. Now I cook full meals and deliver them to homestays." - Yvonne, cook and enterpreneur, Indonesia

Yvonne lives in Budo, one of four villages supported by an International Labour Organization programme helping communities diversify into sustainable tourism and providing skills to local entrepreneurs, mostly women. The village has increased its income from tourism fivefold, and now appears on the tourist trail.
