The Special Committee on the Charter (which is constituted of the entire membership of the Organization) will hold a general debate during its opening plenary meeting, in which delegations will consider the role of the Organization in the maintenance of international peace and security and in the peaceful settlement of disputes.

The Special Committee on the Charter of the United Nations and on the Strengthening of the Role of the Organization will hold its 2026 session from 18 February to 26 February 2026.
