Informal briefing for Member States on the work of the UNSDG System-Wide Evaluation Office.


This session will feature the presentation of the UNSDG SWEO annual report (E/2026/56) by the Executive Director, outlining progress on the system-wide evaluation policy, key findings from recent evaluations, and priorities for the period ahead. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with these findings through an interactive dialogue with the Executive Director, including on how to ensure the institutional sustainability of SWEO through predictable and adequate resourcing to fulfil its mandate as an independent source of evidence for reform. This will be followed by a panel comprising representatives from the United Nations development system to examine how system-wide evaluations are informing decision-making and driving changes in strategies, practices and system-wide performance across the United Nations development system.
